Three women attempt suicide
RAWALPINDI: Three women attempted suicide by ingesting poisonous pills in different parts of Rawalpindi district on Thursday.
The women were shifted to the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) where their condition was stated to be critical.
A 27-year-old woman, resident of Pirwadhai, attempted suicide apparently due to poverty, police said.
Another married woman attempted suicide due to a f amily dispute in Murree.
A 26-year-old woman, mother of three, also attempted suicide by drinking acid after her husband`s second marriage.
Meanwhile, a man was gunned down allegedly by his younger brother over a domestic dispute.
Police said Rizwan Tariq along with his family lived with his younger brother Adnan Tariq in Rawat.
The wife of the deceased complained to the police that the two brothers had an exchange of harsh words over an electricity bill but later the issue was settled.
When she along with her husband was leaving for a market, Adnan shot her husband dead in the street, she alleged.Staff Reporter
