Motorway case adjourned – 09 Mar 2021
LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Monday adjourned jail trial in the motorway gang rape case till March 11 af ter four prosecution witnesses were crossexamined by the defence.
Thewitnessesincludedtwo forensic experts, a lady doctor and a female head constable.
Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta held the trial proceedings in the Camp Jail against the prime suspect and co-suspect who pleaded not guilty.
However, the investigating officer in his report says that the suspects confessed to their crime. The Gujjarpura police had lodged an FIR under sections 376, 392 and 427 of the Pakistan Penal Code and section 7 of the AntiTerrorismAct,1997.
The accused sexually assaulted a Pakistan origin French woman in front of her three minor children after dragging her out from a car that stopped during the late night travel on the motorway after fuel ran out.
