A 22-year-old newly-married girl was strangled allegedly by her husband on Wednesday, three days after her marriage.
According to police, accused Tanvir, a resident of Rasool Park, was against marrying her paternal cousin Hira, but was forced by his parents to marry her. On Wednesday, he reportedly had an altercation with her on the issue and later he strangled her. Police have removed the body to morgue and arrested the accused.
cop’s Funeral: Namaz-e-Janaza for a police constable, Zafar Iqbal, who was shot dead by some unidentified car riders near Lady Willington Hospital on Tuesday, was held at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines on Wednesday.
Additional IG Operations Arif Nawaz, Additional IG Training, Punjab, DIG Investigation, Lahore, CCPO, Lahore, DIG Operations, Lahore and other officers attended the funeral.
A group of policemen saluted martyred cop Zafar Iqbal while the officers laid a floral wreath at his grave.
Zafar Iqbal, who was a resident of Mughalpura, had joined police force on November, 30, 1996. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
