LAHORE: A 16-year-old maid who was allegedly `kidnapped` some two weeks back from her landlord`s house in Model Town died at a hospital during treatment on Tuesday.

The parents had lodged an FIR claiming that Nadra was kidnapped by a local resident Tasawwar who allegedly killed her after rape.

They claimed that they came to know of her kidnap after the landlord informed them after two weeks .

A police official said Tasawwar had contracted court marriage with Nadra and they were living in Raiwind area since then.

Quoting Tasawwar, he said Nadra fell ill on Tuesday and he tool( her to a hospital where she died during treatment.

The police seized her body and sent it to the city morgue for autopsy when the suspect was taking her body to his native city Sargodha for burial.

The police informed parents of the girl and detained Tasawwar to further investigate the matter.

SUICIDE: A man who had shot at and injured himself in a suicide bid allegedly after injuring a young married woman in Baghbanpura succumbed to his wounds in hospital on Tue s day.

On Monday, Naeem had entered house of Kanwal (23), ñred three shots on her in the presence of her mother, Firdous Bibi, and younger brother and ned.

After reaching a deserted street of the same area, Naeem shot himself in the temple with the same pistol, a police official said.

The suspect was rushed to a private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday. Kanwal is also struggling for life in a local hospital.

The police had lodged an FIR against the suspect the same day on complaint of Kanwal`s mother. She alleged that Kanwal was married and her husband was settled abroad for the last a couple of years.

Naeem wanted to marry Kanwal and was putting pressure on her to get divorce from her husband.

On her refusal, he tried to kill her before attempting suicide.
