Man, woman killed for honour in Shangla
SHANGLA: A woman and a man were 1(illed for honour in Mandoria area of Martung tehsil here the other day, police said on Sunday.
Martung SHO Mohammad Afzal Khan said on receiving information regarding the killing of a couple in Mandoria area, he reached the spot along with a police party and shifted the bodies to local rural health centre.
SHO Afzal quoted an eyewitness Ziauddin as saying that he along with his cousin, Tajuddin were going home on a motorcycle when Shah Jehan and his brother Mohammad Alam opened fire on them. As a result, Tajuddin sustained bullet injuries in various parts of his body and later died.
`Later, the two accused went home and killed a married woman on suspicion that she had illicit relations with the slain man, Ziauddin said.
After fulfilling legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the familie.
The police registered a case under sections 302, 311, 324, 34/15A of PPC against the accused and arrested them during a raid on their house.
Meanwhile, police lodged an FIR against a man identi-fled as Inzimam of Shahpur for assaulting a minor girl in Koz Kana area on Sunday.
According to FIR, Sultan Mehmood reported to police that his eight-year-old daughter had gone to bazaar in Koz Kana for bringing some daily use commodities, and when she was returning a man identified as Inzimam forcibly took her to a stream where he assaulted her.
The complainant said another man tried to catch hold of the accused, but he managed to escape.
Police said the girl was taken to the district headquarters hospital, Alpuri, where medical examination showed that she was assaulted.
Police registered FIR against the suspect and began further interrogations.
NAZIM JAILED: The magistrate-on-duty on Sunday sent the Alpuri tehsil council nazim Mohammad Tahir to the district jail Battagram over alleged remarks against the state`s institutions during a protest in Dandai area.
The police produced the nazim before the magistrate Mohammad Agib in Alpuri camp court.
The nazim`s counsel said the magistrate did not mention in the order the period of time the nazim would spend in jail.
