Man kills niece for `honour` – March 24, 2017

LAHORE: A man shot his niece dead for honour in Manga Mandi on Thursday.

Police said Wazir All of Qila Tamli was annoyed with his brother`s daughter Saba, 25, for contracting marriage with the man of her choice.

The police said the family first forced the couple to file a separation case and later took the girl to their home some months ago.

The police said on Thursday Ali went to his brother`s house, exchanged harsh words with the family and later shot at and injured Saba.

The woman was taken to hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and registered a case against the suspect on the complaint of victim`s mother.

Investigating officer Saifullah said initial investigations suggested that the victim was killed for honour.

He said the case was registered under murdercharges and honour killing sections would be include after investigation.

FOUND DEAD: A man, who had gone missing three days ago from Sabazazar, was recovered dead from BRB Canal on Thursday.

Police said 30-year-old Tariq Hassan of Sabzazar, a cleric in a semi-government organisation, went missing three days ago and a kidnap case was also registered with the Nawankot police.

Police said according to initial investigation Tariq left his house on a motorcycle on Monday morning to go to his office. He neither reachedofñcenorreturned home till Tuesday.

Victim`s family approached Nawankot police for a kidnap case.

Later, police found an abandoned motorcycle at a villagein Batapurarea.

On Thursday, Hayer police recovered the body of Tariq from BRB Canal and shif ted it to morgue.

SHO Javed Siddique said the body remained in the water for three days and the autopsy would determine the cause of death.
