Man commits suicide after killing wife in SITE – 16th May 2020

KARACHI: A 54-year-old-father of seven children shot himself in the head after killing his 46-year-old wife in the SITE area on Friday, police said.

They added that the bodies of Shams-ur-Rahman and Shahnaz Bibi were found from their home in Metroville Block-1 near Farooq-iAzam Masjid in the early hours of the day when one of their children returned home.

The police found a licensed pistolof Shams from the crime scene which was used in the shooting and spent bullet cases.

`The couple had five daughters and two sons,` said Inspector Ayaz Khan, the SHO SITE-A police station.

`The children of the couple are all grown-up and a few of them are married. They told police that their father was suffering from some serious mental disorder for the past few years. He had been under treatment for a couple of years, but he quit visiting doctor a few months ago. He was a cloth merchant by trade .
