LODHRAN: A man was arrested for allegedly hanging his two minor daughters with a tree as a punishment in Makhdoompur, Kabirwala.

A video had gone viral on social media that showed a man hanging two minor girls with a tree. Khanewal District Police Officer Asad Sarfraz took notice and directed a team to investigate and arrest the man as soon as possible.

Within a few hours, a Kabirwala police team raided the site of the incident and arrested a suspect, who was identified as Irfan a resident of Makhdoompur in Kabirwala. Police also lodged a first information report (FIR) against the suspect.

The suspect, Irfan, told police that they were watching videos through a USB when suddenly the electricity went out. When it resumed, he searched for the flash drive, but could not find it. He claimed that he got angry and hung his daughters with a tree. Police sources said they had succeeded in arresting the suspect and lodged an FIR on Saturday against him and will take action as per law.

ACCIDENT: Three people were killed and five others injured in a road accident near Kabirwala.

According to Rescue 1122 Khanewal, a speeding car hit a tractor trolley and skidded under it at Makhdoompur motorway interchange on Saturday night. Resultantly, three people were killed on the spot and five others injured.

Rescue 1122 reached the spot and recovered the bodies and the injured. Those killed were identified as Fatima, 18; Ifra, 20; and Awais, 35. The injured were identified as Raima, 11; Rabia, 22; Maria Bibi, 20; Sadia, 24; and Ajmal, 35. They were shifted to Kabirwala THQ after being administered first aid.
