Four kidnappers, including woman, arrested, boy recovered

KARACHl: The Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, on Sunday claimed to have arrested four suspected kidnappers, including one woman, and safely recovered a child, who was recently kidnapped in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.

The arrests were made within the city and in other parts of the province, according to a paramilitary force spokesperson, who said that five-year-old Asad was kidnapped in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on July 12 and the kidnappers had demanded Rs5 million and later on reduced the ransom amount to Rs500,000.

After receiving information about the incident, the Rangers established a special team, which, with the help of technology and intelligence agencies, managed to arrest four suspects and recovered the boy safely.

Two suspects, Abdul Ghaffar and Perveen, were picked up from Gulistan-i-Jauhar. They had allegedly made planning for the kidnapping. The third suspect, Farmanullah, was arrested in Khairpur as he had taken away the victim from Karachi to Khairpur while the fouhh suspect, Abdul Hameed, was apprehended in Jamshoro for allegedly provided technical help and making calls for ransom.

The kidnappers had threatened to kill the child if the ransom was not paid to them.

The four suspects have been handed over to the police for further legal action.
