SUKKUR: A teenage boy shot dead his 16-year-old female cousin and committed suicide afterwards in the village of Abdul Ghaffar Brohi within the jurisdiction of Muhammadpur Odho police station in Jacobabad on Wednesday.

According to neighbours, Mohammad Yahya Brohi, 17, called his paternal cousin Kulsoom Brohi, 16, to his room, killed her and then committed suicide with a pistol.

When family members rushed to the room after hearing the gunshots, they found the two lying in a pool of blood.

Police took the bodies in custody and shifted them to the civil hospital. After a post-mortem, the bodies were handed over to the relatives.

The motive behind the murder and suicide could not be ascertained immediately.
