SUKKUR: The bodies of two newborns surfaced in Raj Wah (irrigation channel) in front of the Jacobabad Institute of Medical Sciences (JIMS) Hospital, officials at the Civil Lines police station of Jacobabad said on Sunday.

The bodies were spotted by some passers-by, who alerted the police. The bodies were taken out of water by a team of the area police and shifted to the Jacobabad Civil Hospital.

After necessary legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to Veesar Welfare Association which buried them in a local graveyard.

No case was registered at the police station till late in the evening.
