Aunt held for murder of minor boy in Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT: A four-year-old boy, who was allegedly kidnapped from Gandi Khakhel locality here on July 17, was in fact killed by his aunt, according to police investigations.

Naeem Khan, father of the victim Awais, had filed a report on July 17 with Naurang town police station alleging that one Shafiullah had kidnapped his son over some dispute.

After registration of case, the police arrested Shanullah, but he refused any involvement in the case during investigations. He was sent to jail on judicial remand.The body of Awais was found dumped in the fields near his home on Aug 18, triggering protests in the area.

An official said that later on the instructions of DPO Qasim Ali Khan the area police added section 7 of ATA to the FIR and had referred the case to the CTD police. He said that a joint investigation team, incluidng SP CTD Bannu, SP Investigation Bannu and DSP Naurang, was formed to probe the incident.

`In the meanwhile, Naeem Khan also accused his brother`s wife and one Arshadullah of abducting and killing his minor son,` the official said, adding that during investigations the woman confessed to killing Awais by giving him poisonous pills.He quoted the woman as stating before a judicial magistrate that she kept his body concealed in a washing machine at her home.

The official said that the co-accused, Shafiullah, had allegedly provided her with the poisonous pills.

He said that the woman had been sent to jail on judicial remand.

KILLED: Unidentified assailants killed a man here on Friday.

According to details, armed men attacked Asmatullah and his father Abdullah near Kabir camp in Lakki city.

Asmatullah, who survived the attack, told police that his father died on the spot. He said that they had no enmity with anyone.

Police have registered a case against unidentified killers.
